How is the daily verse chosen?
Shloka walks a hand-curated selection of verses from the Bhagavad Gita in canonical order — everyone in the world sees the same verse on the same day, and the cycle repeats when it reaches the end. There is no algorithm personalizing anything.
How do I add the widget?
Touch and hold your home screen, tap the + (or “Edit”) button, search for Shloka, and choose a size. For the lock screen, touch and hold the lock screen, tap Customize, and add Shloka to the widget area.
Why is the audio button disabled?
Recitation audio is streamed over the internet — it’s the only part of the app that needs a connection. If you’re offline, the button is disabled; everything else keeps working.
Can I change the notification time?
Not yet — the daily notification arrives at 7 AM local time. A settings option is planned. You can turn the notification off any time in the iOS Settings app under Shloka › Notifications.
Whose translation is this?
The English translation is by Swami Sivananda and the commentary is his as well, both in the public domain. Recitation audio is used with the kind permission of JKYog.
